Hail larger than golf balls pelted Bozeman Wednesday.

Newsworld desk: As a retreating winter makes room for the summer to take over soon, Dhaka city witnessed massive hailstorm with light to heavy rainfall this morning, an official of Met Office told BSS. “We have been reported that different areas in the Dhaka city have received a burst of hailstorm with rainfall…. But we are yet to get detailed reports on hailstorm,” he added. Alongside capital, different regions including Munshiganj experienced hailstorm with heavy downpour, the meteorologist added.

Newsworld desk: A young man died from suffocation and three others fell sick as a fire broke out at a room beside the vegetable market in Dhaka’s New Market area early Wednesday, reports news agency UNB. Atiqul Haque Chowdhury, inspector of Fire Service Control Room, said the fire originated from a burning mosquito coil at the room beside the vegetable market around 1:42 am when the four people were asleep. The Supreme Court canceled bail for three BNP leaders and asked them to surrender before a lower court within a week in 52 separate violence cases yesterday. The High Court had granted bail to BNP standing committee member MK Anwar, Adviser to chairperson Abdul Awal Mintoo and Joint Secretary General Aman Ullah Aman. A Dhaka court on Tuesday issued a warrant of arrest against 9 people, including BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka, in a case filed with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar thana under Explosives Act.Judge Jahirul Haque of Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s court issued the warrant as Khoka and other accused did not appear before the court today. According to the case study, on December 23, 2013, several cocktails were blasted in front of the Election Commission Secretariat. Later, Sub-Inspector Raju Ahmed filed a case with the thana against Khoka and 8 others on December 27.

The government  on Monday ordered all garment factory owners to pay the festival bonus and wages of their workers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. The festival bonus for Eid and Puja will have to be paid by September 28, Mujibul Haque Chunnu, the state minister for labour and employment, said after a meeting of the Crisis Management Core Committee of the readymade garment sector. 4 killed, 6 hurt at Karwan Bazar

Four persons were killed and six others were injured as a train ploughed into  a crowd at Karwan Bazar rail crossing in Dhaka this morning. The accident occurred at 8:30am when two trains  Karnaphuli Express and Jamuna Express  were passing  from opposite directions near the Karwan Bazar fish market, locals said. Mohammad, who was  banana vendors on the railway tracks, died on the spot while two other unknown persons succumbed to their injuries  at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). The injured were rushed  to the DMCH, wetness said.
