2 tv channels suspended in pakistan

The Pakistani authorities have suspended the broadcast of two more television channels after it blocked Geo News transmission earlier in June.

“The Pakistan electronic media regulatory authority (PEMRA) has suspended Geo Entertainment’s licence for 30 days, and ARY News’s licence for 15 days, along with Rs 10 million penalties to both the channels,” a government official said. Geo Entertainment’s licence was suspended over blasphemous broadcast for 30 days whereas ARY News received 15-day licence suspension penalty.
